Educators... Give yourself a time-out !

Unwind, recharge, and connect to your inner wisdom with our 'Mindfulness in Action' professional development retreat in Bali.

This 5-day immersive professional learning program, provides an opportunity for educators to learn more about the strategies, tools and implementation of mindfulness, and have the time to put these skills into deeper practice.

The core foundational premise of our Mindfulness in Action PD is ...live mindfulness!

We use our body, breath, mind, heart, taste, sound, smell, creativity, connections and nature... to immerse into living mindful practices. We embrace the spirit of Bali by blending our mindfulness practices with traditional Balinese cooking, arts and culture, and deep dive into sound healing at the Pyramids of Chi.

The purpose of mindfulness? Joy... Peace... Love... Harmony... Authenticity.

As a teacher, you know firsthand the demands and stresses that come with the profession. Being able to leave those pressures behind and immerse yourself in a tranquil, rejuvenating environment is an essential part of looking after your wellbeing. Our mindfulness retreat in Bali offers just that - an opportunity to cultivate inner peace, enhance your well-being, and develop new skills to help you thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Our retreat is led by Jan Carey, Director of Centre for Mindful Education, who is an experienced teacher and mindfulness instructor. She will guide you through a variety of practices designed to reduce stress, improve focus and concentration, and promote positive emotions like joy, gratitude, and compassion. You'll also have the chance to connect with other teachers from around the world, building a supportive community that will continue to inspire you long after the retreat is over.

But it's not just about the mindfulness practices - Bali is a destination like no other. From its stunning natural beauty to its rich culture and delicious cuisine, there's something for everyone. You'll have the opportunity to explore Bali's culture, arts, and markets, and soak up the island's unique energy and spirit.

The main conference theme is : 'Mindfulness in Action'

Why? Because mindfulness cannot be learnt through just our intellect, it needs to be practised and embodied in our actions and practices. The 5 days will purposefully provide a balance of formal presentations and content delivery (for our minds), plus an integration of practical applications for using mindfulness in life (for our practice)

We have four mindfulness topics being addressed formally (presentation of information) and through practices throughout the five days:

1. Wisdom of mindfulness: Learn about the practices and implementation of mindfulness in life, and within educational settings. How to notice and bring awareness to yourself and to situations in order to manage them more skilfully in the classroom.

2. Connect with the senses: Through connecting with our senses, we learn to be more present in the moment. A mindful discovery of connecting with our body & senses through: yoga, sound bath, music, meditation, mindful eating, cooking class and spa / massage treatments. Explore ways to introduce sensory practices into the learning program.

3. Connect with your body & emotions (& your inner child): Learn about the mind-body emotional connection and how to tune in to it. We will then take some time to reconnect with our emotional body (inner child) and have some fun… making batik paintings, wood craft, dancing or taking time to swim in the pool, or a walk around the rice paddies.

4. Change your thoughts...change your life: We are not our thoughts. Discover how understanding that 'What we think affects how we feel' in everyday situations. By watching our thoughts, creating a focus on gratitude and choosing a positive mindset, we can live a life filled with joy, happiness and fulfilment.

I am most passionate about helping educators with this purpose (mainly because I am a teacher myself) but ALL are welcome!

If you feel the call within your heart to live a more peace-filled, joyous and heart-centred life... then join us for our next 5-day Mindfulness in Action PD in Bali - 8th-12th July 2024.
